Window Blinds
A window blind is a type of covering for a window or even a door. It is used in order to stop a sufficient amount of light entering the rooms. There are several kinds of blinds that are easily available in the market.
Slat blinds are usually vertical and flat in nature. They are made up of metal and are inter connected so that they can be easily rotated up to an angle of 170 degrees to cut out light. These slat blinds can also be tilted by moving a small handle or a knob that is connected to the slats. Some blinds also include other mechanisms like motorization.
Such slat blinds include the Venetian blinds, which are carved out of a metal or plastic. The width of the slats is approximately around 50 mm to 130 mm. instead of metal some of the people prefer wood blinds in their homes. Mini Venetian blinds are much smaller in width of usually 19 or 24 mm wide.
Another type of blind is the vertical blind in which the slats are hanging out from one common track. They are made of plastic or any other light fabric. The slats can be rotated up to 90 degrees in this case to allow light to pass through the window.
Another type is the Solid blinds, which can be rolled up or down or even folded up. These types of wood blinds are often referred to as window shades also. Such types of blinds include the Holland blinds or commonly called the roller blinds. Woven blinds are rather decorative in nature and are easily available in many colored yarns. Honeycomb shades, or cellular shades, have layers that are configured in a way to create small compartments, and some people find this an attractive look.
